Title: Expedition to Arctic Volcanoes
Abstract: Motivated to understand the origin of continents, my team journeyed to the remote Western Aleutians in 2015. On this NSF-funded expedition, we traveled via a small helicopter-equipped boat, and sampled rocks, gas, and water on 8 volcanic islands. I will take you on a photo and video tour across hundreds of kilometers of the Aleutian Arc as we explore the Western Aleutian volcanoes and what they can tell us about the origin of the continental crust we live on.
