Séminaire de Mary-Alix Kaczmarek

21 décembre 2017 à 15 h 00 min - 16 h 00 min

Jeudi 21 décembre à 15h, Mary-Alix Kaczmarek (GET Toulouse) donnera un séminaire intitulé :

De l’Espace à la Terre: Que pouvons nous apprendre des roches ultramafiques pour déchiffrer la déformation dans les planètes rocheuses.

Abstract
An important and challenging field in Earth and Planetary Sciences is the evolution of planetary interiors. From Space planetesimals and primitive planets to differentiated and active planets like the Earth, there remain numerous important magmatic and tectonic processes that are not fully understood.
On one side, the record of active processes during the Archaean and Eoarchaean is virtually absent from the surface of the Earth because preserved minerals and rocks from this period are rare. Although it is difficult to constrain early Earth tectonic and magmatic processes, meteorites provide useful information on the differentiation and deformation of primitive bodies.
On the other side, contemporary Earth is far more thoroughly studied due to the easy access to samples, and we have a good record of upper mantle dynamics at large scale with a spatial resolution, such as in orogenic massifs of peridotites, peridotites from the oceanic floor and in intra-continental rifts (contrary to meteorites).
During this seminar I will present recents results, combining microstructural and in-situ geochemical data, about deformation recorded by achondrite meteorite and upper mantle rocks, that will give insight of the evolution of the deformation.
