logo_region_auvergneThe Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans (research laboratory in the fields of igneous petrology, geochemistry and volcanology; http://wwwobs.univ-bpclermont.fr/lmv/) and the ClerVolc consortium (collaborative research programme on volcanic processes; http://clervolc.univ-bpclermont.fr) invite applications for five postdoctoral fellowships on independent research of the applicant’s choosing.

The research fellowships will be funded by the Auvergne Regional Council. Contracts could start as early as the first half of 2015. Fellowships are supported for 24 months and include a research allowance. The net annual salary is about €26,000 and includes a benefits package (health insurance plus retirement and unemployment benefits).

Candidates should have completed their PhD by the time of application. They are requested to submit their own original research proposal (limited to no more than 5 sides of A4), a CV (including a list of publications, description of thesis and any postdoctoral research), a letter of motivation, and the pdfs of up to five publications by email to Auvergnefellowship@opgc.fr. They should also ask three referees to send letters of recommendation to the same email address. The deadline for applications is February 28, 2015. Research projects will be selected based on scientific excellence and innovation. Applicants do not need to speak French, and applications can be in English.
