    Effect of H2O on melting events and associated thermochemical heterogeneities in Earth’s mantle.

    As a part of my Ph.D. project, I aim to quantify the chemical differentiation in the shallow lower mantle as a product of dehydration melting corresponding to geophysically detected low-velocity zones (LVZ). We constrain the effect of H2O on activity and distribution coefficients in between mineral  & melt. Density models using Equations of State (EOS) further demonstrate the role of the primary magma on the global geodynamics and H2O mantle circulation.
